Important General Rules

  • Never use TiVo® as a noun (Don’t say “Program your TiVo” or “Set your TiVo” or “Get a TiVo”. It’s an adjective for “DVR” or “box” or “Set-top box”. So it’s “Program your TiVo DVR” or “Set your TiVo box” or “Get a TiVo HD DVR” instead.
  • The first mention of TiVo in the title and in the text will need to have the ‘®’ symbol.
  • This legal message should be added to the fine print of any piece created: “TiVo, the TiVo logo, the Thumbs Up logo, and the Thumbs Down logo are registered trademarks of TiVo Inc. and its subsidiaries worldwide. All rights reserved.”
  • If you are using logos of TiVo partners, such as Pandora, YouTube, etc., please add this text: “All other trademarks are the property of their respective owners.”
  • All final material must be sent to Evolution’s marketing contact for sign off of using the TiVo logo prior to publishing. Evolution will work with TiVo to turn approval around quickly.
  • Only use the approved TiVo logos. Don’t change them. Make sure that the “R” is clearly visible over his foot.
  • The TiVo logo must ALWAYS be grounded, either by using the “shadow” version or by placing TiVo guy’s heels on a horizontal line or surface or on top of the DVR.
